AET 291: Advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Credits 3The purpose of this course is to expand on the skills learned in AET 191. Industry-driven BIM software will be utilized to create accurate and useful building models while further exposing students to the power and potential of BIM and its impact on the Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry. Emphasis will be placed on the information component of BIM. BIM software will be used to create detailed construction documents, as well as, basic 3D model presentation techniques, project phasing, managing design options, collaboration/teamwork and creating custom content.
CDT 223: Civil Engineering Drafting
Credits 3The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to civil engineering drafting. This will include topographic drawings, land development drawings, roadway plans and profiles, and drainage plans and profiles. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to construct topographic maps, land development maps, and drainage structure drawings.
DDT 216: Design of Structural Wood Members
Credits 3This course provides theory of structural wood members. Joists, beams, girders, rafters, posts, and columns are designed as related to residential and light commercial needs. Bending moments, shear, and slenderness ratios are discussed as well as code requirements.
